Hey, I’m Alicia!

I love working with words! In March 2025, I graduated from Proofread Anywhere’s General Proofreading course. After that training, I worked on over seventy books! In July 2026, I completed the Copyediting Fiction course through the Editorial Freelancers Association. How lucky am I that this is my job?!

In my editing, I am very thorough and am meticulous about ensuring that manuscripts align with the industry standards in The Chicago Manual of Style. Your book deserves to be as perfect as possible, and I can help with that!

Proofreading

The goal of this service is to simply correct any errors that have slipped through the editing process. It includes one thorough pass through your manuscript. Corrections will be made so the manuscript is free from grammatical errors, typographical errors, and formatting errors. All corrections are based on guidelines found in The Chicago Manual of Style and Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary.

Copyediting

The goal of this service is to correct and improve the writing. It includes two passes through your manuscript. This service focuses on adjustments in unclear dialogue, improvements in sentence structure, locating inconsistencies in verb tense and descriptions, fact-checking, and ensuring a style is consistently applied throughout the manuscript. A detailed style sheet will be provided after completion. All suggestions are based on guidelines found in The Chicago Manual of Style.

Combination Copyediting & Proofreading

This package includes three passes through your manuscript in two different formats. First, a copyedit will be completed in Microsoft Word or Google Docs. After suggested edits are implemented, the author will send a formatted e-book, to be read on an e-reader, for the proofread. Reading in a different format will make it easier to catch any errors that may have been missed in the copyedit.

A $50 deposit (via Venmo or PayPal) is required upon booking. The remaining balance is to be paid upon receipt of manuscript. Delay of payment could mean delay of service.
